FAQs

If your question isn’t answered here then drop me, Kate, an email and I’ll get back to you as soon as I can hello@wildandrootedfarming.co.uk

  • Can I make changes to my order?

Please contact us as soon as possible on hello@wildandrootedfarming.co.uk if you need to change your order.

You must make the changes before 9pm on a Wednesday (our cut-off for delivery that week). To make things simple for everyone we would just cancel and refund your original order and ask you to make a new order including your amendments.

  • What areas are classed as ‘local delivery’

We’ve capped it at a 5 miles radius from the farm. The following areas are eligible:

Boreham, Broomfield, Chignal St James, Chelmer Village, Chelmsford City, Felsted, Ford End, Galleywood, Good Easter, Great Baddow, Great Leighs, Great Waltham, High Easter, Howe Street, Little Waltham, Moulsham, Melbourne, North End, Roxwell, Springfield, Writtle.

  • How will my box of beef arrive?

Your order will arrive in a cardboard box. Once inside you’ll find a wool pouch which has been used to help keep your meat frozen, along with a couple of ice packs. We’ll also include any extra instructions in a little envelope so keep an eye out for that too.

  • Is there a minimum order?

No, there is no minimum order but as we often sell out, we would suggest buying in bulk if you have the freezer space.

  • When do you deliver?

We always deliver on a Friday– whether that’s by us (locally) or a courier.

  • Do you have a farm shop?

No, we don’t have the facilities for a full-time farm shop so we limit collection from 10am – 12noon every Saturday and operate a delivery service.

  • When can I collect from the farm?

    Every Saturday 10am – 12noon.

Pre-orders only and of course we are flexible on pick up time/day if we can be – especially for you regulars : )

  • Will my meet arrive frozen?

Yes, all of our beef is frozen when the day we receive it back from the butcher. Providing your order is delivered when it should be, immediately opened and stored correctly, then yes, the beef should arrive frozen.

From our trial courier deliveries we only ever had smaller items such as steaks, liver, burgers which were ever so slightly partially defrosted. We are happy that they can either be popped back in the freezer or, if you’re not comfortable with that, then thaw them and consume within a couple of days.

As you are aware, overnight deliveries is new to us so we will be monitoring it and improving it as we go – any feedback welcome and thank you for your patience with it.

  • Can I return my packaging?

It’s best for you to recycle the cardboard boxes and the plastic that the meat is wrapped in. However, we actively encourage you to send back your wool pouches and ice packs – if you have no other use for them. We can then re-use them in future orders. We ask you to send them back in one of our boxes and ensure that the box is full before sending. We have set up a returns label here. Make sure you pop your name inside the box and we’ll make sure we thank you in your next order : )
