A small but mighty team

The farm and everything we do wouldn’t be possible without everyone involved. It takes a small, but mighty, team to look after everything and it’s a 365 day a year job.

We have the seasonal workers on breeder birds, egg-laying, and helping with the chicks; Matty, Raffa, Jack, Aga and Derek.

David, cattle man for Derek Kelly Beef who’s cows graze here in the summer and share the winter housing with our cattle. It’s great to have another set of experienced cattle hands on site helping with things like silage and calving.

Dee, Graham’s wife, on the books and generally keeping Graham in check.

Graham is a the most vital cog. He’s on the farm every day, and gets on with anything and everything without a fuss. He keeps everything turning.

Sam is on turkeys, cattle and the general running of the farm, which as you can imagine doesn’t leave much time for too much else. He’s on the farm everyday as the livestock take priority.

Lynne, Sam’s mother. Our resident foodie and turkey rearing guru. Always on hand for advice, childcare and generally anything we’ve forgotten or a ran out of on collection days.

Kate, Sam’s wife - I’m the one writing this blog! Getting involved where I can, along with our children Poppy and Thomas. I’m the one packing your orders, delivering the beef or replying to your emails.

Then there are all the people who pass through the farm. We’re lucky that the farm is a hive of activity and without even leaving we get to meet lots of different people. Especially on collection days - we’ve had some customers buying from us for over 10 years, it’s always so nice to see them.

Then there are all the contractors we use and the farming community in general - it’s a pretty great industry to be in that’s for sure.

Everyone works together to achieve high animal welfare standards and to bring nutritional food directly from the farm to your plate.
